WAZOOGLES Unicorn Power

February 27, 2019

I am worried for our children! The average child's diet consists largely of processed foods. That's food that's produced by companies who prioritise short-term profits over the long-term health of our children.

Also sick of witnessing large food companies pull the wool over consumer’s eyes, two brothers from Cape Town decided to develop their own product. Something real, a product where the front of the pack is as honest as the back. Together they started Wazoogles. Their products combine the three things that make me happiest... ethically sourced, nutrient dense food in products that taste good and are quick and convenient to prepare. What more could parents of fussy children ask for?!

Their eye-catching, bright packaging and unicorn logo appeals to and captures the imaginations of children and adults alike. It was their packaging that first drew me to their products. Products with names like unicorn berry, superseed stardust and chocolate moondust have kept us coming back.

Like every child, Lexi occasionally doesn't want to eat. It is Wazoogles products that get us through those stages. In fact, Lexi is convinced that unicorn berries come from the Wazoogles forest and are delivered to us in the dead of night by alicorns (winged unicorns). I just need to remind Lexi of this and she will happily drink a Wazoogles Superfood Protein Blend smoothie.

Lexi is currently going through a stage where breakfast is a struggle every morning. Wazoogles has made is so easy to make breakfast "desserts" that put my mind at ease knowing that she is starting her day with a nutrient dense meal. Her current favourites are chia seed puddings.

To supercharge these already nutrient packed puddings, I sprinkle a tablespoon of Wazoogles Breakfast Bombs over. They're delicious to snack on, added to homemade trail mix or sprinkled on plain yoghurt.

I recently received an amazing delivery from Wazoogles packed with a selection of their Supernatural Oats. I strategically placed them at Lexi's eye level in the pantry and waited with baited breath. Lexi didn't even make it to breakfast the next day before trying one.

The Supernatural Oats are conveniently packaged in individual portions. All you need to do is pour in boiling water and wait 2 minutes. They're 100% organic and plant based and sweetened with superfoods like dates (nature's sweets as Lexi calls them). Flavours like chocolate chip cookie dough and peanut butter coconut cup make them irresistible. Exactly the kind of healthy snack that I am happy to let Lexi help herself to any time.

For busy mornings they are the perfect grab-and-go breakfast. Rob has enjoyed them too.

Vanilla Chia Pudding

Serves 1

INGREDIENTS

1 serving Wazoogles Superfood Protein Blend - Vanilla Sky

1 cup milk (or milk alternative)

1/4 cup chia seeds

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp pure, organic maple syrup (optional)

METHOD

Place all your ingredients in a large, glass jar and give it a good shake.

Refrigerate and give the jar a shake every 1-2 hours until set.

Mixing is important because the seeds sink to the bottom. Without mixing the pudding won't set.

Before serving sprinkle with Wazoogles Breakfast Bombs - Chocolate Eruption for some added oomph.

Lasts 5 days in the fridge.

Unicorn Berry (and Blueberry) Chia Pudding

Serves 1

INGREDIENTS

1 serving Wazoogles Superfood Protein Blend - Unicorn Berry

1 cup milk (or milk alternative)

1/4 cup chia seeds

1 cup blueberries, blended

1 tsp pure, organic maple syrup (optional)

METHOD

Blitz blueberries in a blender until smooth.

Place all your ingredients in a large, glass jar and give it a good shake.

Refrigerate and give the jar a shake every 1-2 hours until set.

Before serving sprinkle with Wazoogles Breakfast Bombs - Berry Storm for some added oomph.

Lasts 5 days in the fridge.

Tip: If your children don't like the consistency of chia seeds (they can be a little slimey) blend ingredients in a blender until smooth. Pour into jars and refrigerate overnight (or at least 4 hours) to set. This gives it a wonderful mousse-like consistency.
